uk.local.borders-region is for the discussion of issues relating to the Scottish Borders, which comprise of The Burghs of Selkirkshire, Roxburghshire, Ettrick & Lauderdale, Berwickshire, Peebleshire and Berwick as it neighbours so closely.

Contributions are welcome from people who:
Live, study, work or have an interest in the area, culture, history, sport and attractions of or plan to visit the Borders.

Advertising

Advertising is forbidden except for:
Suppliers of Scottish Borders relevant goods and services may post a pointer to their website or an invitation to request details. This may not exceed four lines and can only be posted no more often than once every three months. The subject line should read "AD" or "ADVERT".
Participants in discussions may include references to their Scottish Borders related business in their .sig.

Announcements of community events or other information that is of direct relevance to the people of the Scottish Borders are most welcome.

Cross-posting

Messages posted to this newsgroup must not be cross-posted to more than a TOTAL of four uk.local.* newsgroups; these may be geographically adjacent or overlapping, or connected by the subject of the post (e.g. "moving house from Pitlochry to Peebles").
