uk.local.glasgow is for the discussion of issues relating to the Glasgow area, which includes the city itself and other nearby areas which are not covered by other uk.local.* groups.

Contributions are welcome from people who: live, study, work or have an interest in the area and it's culture, history, sport, festivals and other attractions or plan to visit the area.

Cross Posting

Messages posted to this newsgroup must not be cross-posted to more than a TOTAL of four uk.local.* newsgroups; these may be geographically adjacent or overlapping, or connected by the subject of the post (eg "moving house from Glasgow to London").


Advertising is forbidden with the following exceptions. Short announcements of non-commercial events which are of direct relevance to the people within the Glasgow area are welcome. They must not be posted more than once a week and the use of "ANN: " in the subject is recommended.

Participants in discussions may include references & URL's to commercial ventures in their sig file as long as it does not exceed 6 lines in total, 4 lines or less is preferred.

Binaries and Formatting

All posts must be in plain text; HTML and other types of formatted text are forbidden. With the explicit exception of cryptographic signatures (eg PGP), all encoded binaries are forbidden. Forbidden binaries include, but are not limited to: pictures, sounds, word processor documents, executable programs and "business cards".
