This newsgroup is intended for the posting of adverts and announcements of relevance to people with an interest in the Yorkshire region. Postings should be repeated no more than once per week, and consist of no more than twenty lines of plain text - items longer than this should be placed on a web site and the URL posted. Signatures should be no longer than four lines of eighty characters each.

Crossposting

Crossposting to any other newsgroup is prohibited.

Binaries and formatting

Encoded binaries (e.g. pictures, compressed files, etc.), are *forbidden*, except for cryptographic signatures (e.g. PGP). Binaries belong on a web or ftp site, whose URL may be posted. Followups

Discussion is discouraged on this newsgroup. Posts asking for replies to the newsgroup are *forbidden*. Posts which require a response should have followups set to 'poster', and contain the phrase 'Please reply by e-mail only'. Posters are advised that the group 'uk.local.yorkshire' is the proper place for discussion of Yorkshire relevant subjects. Followups must not be set to uk.local.yorkshire from uk.local.yorkshire.noticeboard.

Advertising

Advertising of goods, services or job vacancies which are of local relevance *only* are welcomed. Notices of wider interest should be posted to a more suitable group, such as 'uk.adverts.other' or 'uk.announce'.

Personal ads are allowed.
All adverts must be 'legal, decent, honest and truthful'
